<p>The news of the death of the most popular pop star icon Michael Jackson had the internet enter a state of slow down. <p>Google was not only the company that experienced the errors brought about the sudden increase in searches, the microblogging site Twitter also experienced the same problem. Twitter crashed because of the fact that it could not take the sheer volume of searches done. <p>The success of Bing in the recent weeks has come without any criticisms. As of the latest, the Microsoft powered search engine has climb inch by inch as it now closes in to the search engine rankings’ long time second placer Yahoo!. But unfortunately, some of Bing’s critics are pessimistic on the fact that the Operating System giant company will surpass the current number one in terms of internet users’ share Google. This plus a new blow to Bings’ reputation and that is the accusation by the multiple-airline search engine Kayak that Bing copied its’ websites’ look and feel and integrated it with Bing’s new travel search engine. Microsoft had even boasted that it’s new travel search is one of the new innovations integrated by Microsoft to revolutionise its search engine.</p>
<p>When Bing launched it’s travel search engine, those who tried the website had commented that the look and feel of Bing’s travel search is uncomfortably like Kayak. Kayak executives in their letter to Microsoft said that the Operating System Giant should stop copying their website. In an answer Microsofts’ Whitney Burk denies allegations that Bing’s travel page is same as that of Kayak’s and further stating that the development of Bing’s travel search is based on Farecast.com which Microsoft acquired in 2008. Burke further stated that they are already in the process of discussing the matters with Kayak. Copyright law offers some protection from copying the look and feel of a website but such is not easy to prove.</p>

<p>The process of website design is a complex but rewarding process. Complex because of the fact that there are a lot of scripting languages, images editing and hosting knowledge that a website designer must integrate together. For example a website designer must know or have knowledge on the lingua franca of the web and that is the Hypertext Markup Language, in addition, he or she must also have knowledge in the use of the other scripting languages like JavaScript for the client-side programming and PHP or ASP for the server-side programming. In addition to all of these the website designer must also know how to edit images using photoshop or any other image editing software this is for the purposes of enhancing the aesthetic value of a website design. Because of the fact that there are a lot of skills involved in website design most companies are trying to outsource this process and hire the services of professional website developers and website designers, but because of the global economic crisis the impact is so great that many companies are force to start a website that is done in-house. Let us take both options in perspective and see which of the two ways of making a website design is better, in-house? Or outsource?</p>
<p>First, if a company utilises an in-house method of making the website design it is important to note that such company is of course not specialising on website design and therefore it’s website designer must or will undergo a learning-curve process. This can be a disadvantage if and when the development of the website is time critical but if it is otherwise then the learning process could be an advantage because it will enhance your employee’s knowledge and thus enabling the worker to perform modifications and enhancements on the website in the future.</p>
<p>For an outsourced website design on the other hand, the website designers are all professionals and they make a living out of website designing therefore you will be able to cut down on time and on errors that may be committed during the process of website design because also of that fact that they know the in’s and outs of website design. If your website design needs is time critical then outsourcing is the choice for you but you have to remember the fact that in outsourcing <a href="https://www.webdesignpositive.co.uk/">web design</a> you have to be prepared to pay a hefty price.</p>

<p>Armed with the goal to make the web a lot faster than usual, Google has developed a new website that is made for all the web developers out there. The web nowadays has no standard speed because of the existence of websites that were coded from both the old Hypertext Markup Language Version and the newer Web 2.0 standard. Not to mention that more and more website designers are actually diverse in their use of the different scripting language. This with the addition of the fact that <a href="../../search-engine-optimisation">Search engine optimisation</a> should also be considered and that the design of the website should also conform to the SEO strategy being employed, it thus created an area where the new technology clashes with the old technology. This clash therefore has created differences on how fast a website is being loaded. The merger of the old and new technology in the web created the slow down of the web and it is because of this reason that Google launched a website that aims to speed up website performance over the web.</p>
<p>Google studied the different factors that affected the speed of the web such as the scripting languages like HTML and JavaScript, in addition to the emergence of different tools that aides the web in increasing its performance, these along with the integration of web technologies for mobile broadband systems.<br/>
The Google page speed has incorporated the Page speed feature which is Google’s own version of the Firefox/Firebug add-on. It also integrated AOL’s Page test which is used to analyse a web page’s performance. Finally Yahoo’s Yslow was also integrated which is Yahoo’s version of a firefox add-on which analyses web page performance and gives suggestions on how to increase or optimise the web pages’ performance.</p>
