<h1>Privacy and Data Protection</h1>
<p>The Gurkha Justice Campaign is a registered Data Controller at the <acronym title="United Kingdom">UK</acronym> <a href="http://www.ico.gov.uk/ESDWebPages/search.asp">Information Commissioner's Office</a> under the Data Protection Act 1998 with registration number Z1505692.</p>
<p>The only personally identifiable information we will keep is that information you explicitly submit by signing the petition or contacting us in orther ways from our web site.</p>
<p>We will <strong>only</strong> use information from petition signatories:</p>
<ol>
<li>To hand in to the <acronym title="United Kingdom">UK</acronym> Government as a part of our petition. We will submit names, postal addresses and postcodes in order to demonstrate the validity of signatures.</li>
<li>To contact those who have allowed us to do so while signing up to the petition.</li>
</ol>
<p>You can opt out of further contact from the campaign at any time by sending your name and the email address you signed the petition with to <a href="mailto:optout@gurkhajustice.org.uk">optout@gurkhajustice.org.uk</a>.</p>
<p>This web site uses Google Analytics as a tool to help analyse how users use the site. Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behaviour information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the web site (including your <acronym title="Internet Protocol">IP</acronym> address) is transmitted to Google. This information is then used to evaluate visitors use of the web site and to compile statistical reports on web site activity for <a href="/">www.gurkhajustice.org.uk</a>.</p>
<p>We will never (and we will not allow any third party to) use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any personally identifiable information of visitors to our site.
