<div class="persontext"><h2 class="expand"><span class="biog_name">Kwadwo Afari-Gyan</span><br/><span class="title">Associate</span></h2><div class="collapse"><p><p>Dr Afari-Gyan has been the Chairman of the Electoral Commision of Ghana since 1993 and Executive Secretary of the Association of African Election Authorities (AAEA) since 1998. </p>
<p>Before becoming an election administrator, he taught for nearly two decades at universities in the US, Ghana and Nigeria. In 1991 he served as a member of the Committee of Experts that drafted proposals for the Fourth Republican Constitution of Ghana. </p>
<p>In 1992 he became a Deputy Chairman of the Interim National Electoral Commission, which conducted a referendum on the Constitution and the subsequent presidential and parliamentary elections. He has undertaken election work in several countries in and outside Afria under the auspices of various international organisations.</p></p></div>

<div class="persontext"><h2 class="expand"><span class="biog_name">Njeri Kabeberi </span><br/><span class="title">Associate</span></h2><div class="collapse"><p>Njeri Kabeberi is Executive Director of the Centre for Multi-Party Democracy-Kenya. Njeri works for the protection of human rights defenders in her home country Kenya and globally. She also works with Kenyan political parties. <br/><br/>She is also the founding Chairperson of Release Political Prisoners; the founding Treasurer of the Safina Party; a founding Director of the Kenya Human Rights Commission; a founding member of the Citizens' Coalition for Constitutional Change, the Country Representative of the Netherlands Institute for Multi-Party Democracy, and a former senior staff member with Amnesty International.<br/><br/>Njeri is a two-time international award winner. She was awarded the inaugural Humanity Award by the Chamber of Lawyers, Frankfurt am Main for ‘Commitment to Law and Justice’ 2009. She was also awarded the Democracy Ribbon by the City of The Hague in 2009 for ‘Commitment to Peace and Democracy’.</p></div>

<div class="persontext"><h2 class="expand"><span class="biog_name">Hannah Roberts</span><br/><span class="title">Associate</span></h2><div class="collapse"><p><p>Hannah Roberts is an independent election and governance consultant with over ten years of experience. Hannah was recently the Country Coordinator for the out-of-country registration and voting in the UK for the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission. She was Head of Mission in Afghanistan and Finland for the OSCE/ODIHR. </p>
<p>Recently she planned a five year UNDP election project in Bangladesh. Hannah has extensive experience in Pakistan, including in planning EU assistance to the parliament, and as Deputy Chief Observer on the EU’s 2008 Election Observation Mission. Hannah was the NEEDS 2 Project Director funded by the European Commission to improve standards in EU and domestic observation. </p>
<p>Hannah has participated in a variety of core team and field positions on observation missions with the EU, OSCE/ODIHR, and with the Council of Europe. She currently carries out LTO training twice-yearly for ERIS.</p>

<div class="persontext"><h2 class="expand"><span class="biog_name">Tim Neale</span><br/><span class="title">Associate</span></h2><div class="collapse"><p><p>Tim Neale has been a media consultant for the past 17 years, specialising in assisting the development of professional media coverage of elections by the journalists of emerging democracies. The tasks have included training, facilitating codes of conduct and media monitoring. Tim has worked with NGOs and election bodies in thirty countries in Africa, South Asia, the Middle East, east and southeast Europe and South America.</p>
<p>He started his career in the African Service of what is now the BBC World Service, followed by a two year secondment as head of programmes to help launch the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation. Substantial experience followed in the management of UK local radio stations and finally seven years as head of BBC Radio Training.</p></p></div>

<div class="persontext"><h2 class="expand"><span class="biog_name">John Maphephe</span><br/><span class="title">ERIS Associate</span></h2><div class="collapse"><p><p>John has been working for more than a decade on both electoral and non-election specific projects related to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). John specializes in ICT project management, voter registration and auditing of ICT systems for government agencies and others. </p>
<p>John has in-depth knowledge and broad comparative experience of ICT use in civil/voter registration projects, ballot paper printing systems, results tabulations systems and nominated candidates’ databases. A citizen of Lesotho, he has run his own ICT business since 1998. He began working with the Lesotho Independent Election Commission in 1999 and was swiftly promoted to IT Systems and Service Manager – a position he held from 2002-2008. </p>
<p>John recently worked for ERIS in 2010 as a website development expert in Somaliland, supporting the newly elected members of the Somaliland National Election Commission. He has lived and worked in many countries including Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Angola, Malawi, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Sudan, Egypt, Chat, France, Italy, Somalia, Kenya, Somaliland, United Kingdom, UEA, Netherlands, Switzerland and Spain.</p></p></div>

<div class="persontext"><h2 class="expand"><span class="biog_name">Carlo Accame</span><br/><span class="title">Associate</span></h2><div class="collapse"><p><p>Carlo Accame joined the United Nation Transitional Authority in Cambodia in 1992 as District Electoral Supervisor. </p>
<p>Since then he has worked in the field of elections as a Short and Long Term Observer, Electoral Expert and Deputy Chief Observer for the European Union, Organization for Democratic Institution and Human Rights (ODIHR), United Nations (UN) and United Nation Development Project (UNDP) in Africa, Asia, Central America and the former Soviet Union. </p>
<p>He has been involved in training the Italian military, police and civilians, and domestic observers in Asia and Middle East for Eurosservatori, NEEDS, Scuola Superiore di Sant’Anna and UNDP. He also has published papers on the nature, functions and future of observation missions and the peacekeeping mission in Cambodia.</p></p></div>

<div class="persontext"><h2 class="expand"><span class="biog_name">S?bastien Drans</span><br/><span class="title">Associate</span></h2><div class="collapse"><p><p>A French journalist by profession, Sébastien Drans has been working in the media, elections and governance fields in developing countries for over 10 years.</p>
<p>Sébastien specialises in project management, public relations, media monitoring, media planning, civic education, communication, journalism, media training and counseling for state institutions.Sébastien has worked for major donors and organisations, including<br/>ERIS as a Project Director in Ivory Coast in 2009-2010. He has also worked on over 10 election missions as a technical assistant or a member of the mission Core Team.</p>
<p>His work has taken him to Cambodia (where he stayed for over 10 years), Indonesia (over 2 years), Ivory Coast (over 1 year), Suriname and Kyrgyzstan, among other countries.<br/></p></p></div>

<div class="persontext"><h2 class="expand"><span class="biog_name">Anders Eriksson</span><br/><span class="title">Associate</span></h2><div class="collapse"><p>Anders has been involved with election observation since 1989 and has worked on some 35 missions in total, as Head of Mission, Election Analyst and Statistical Analyst. <br/><br/>For OSCE and UN Anders has carried out technical assistance in several countries. Anders is an election official in Sweden and was the Co-ordinator of the earlier EU Election Observation Project, which also provided training for EU observers. Anders was also the Editor of the EU Election Observation Handbook and Benchmark for Electoral Standards</p></div>
