<h1>Do you have Cataract?</h1>
<p>Cataracts are the cloudy patches that often develop in the lens of your eye. They can cause blurred or misty vision. Do not worry, they are very common and are treatable. <strong>Eye Lens:</strong> </strong>The lens is the transparent structure that sits just behind your pupil (the black dot in the centre of your eye). It allows light to get to the back of your eye (retina). <strong>As we age</strong>: In some people, cataracts develop in the lens as they get older. This results in some of the light not being able to reach the back of the eye. As we age these patches become larger and can start affecting vision. Many people with cataracts will eventually need surgery to remove and replace the affected lens.</p>
<h1>Common Symptoms of cataracts</h1>
<p>Many signs of cateracts are missed as they do not adversly affect a person's vision. Whilst they normally develop on both eyes the degree in which they are affected can vary between eye lens or eyeballs. Small spots or patches where your vision has become blured or patchy are common symptoms. Cataracts is an internal complaint affecting the eye itself. There would be not teltale syptoms or redness or itching around the eye.<br /><br />
<strong>Cataracts may also affect your sight in the following ways:</strong></p>
<ul style="list-style-type: undefined;">
<li>You could find it more difficult to see in dim or very bright light, the glare from bright lights may be dazzling or uncomfortable to look at colours may look faded or less clear everything may have a yellow or brown tinge</li>
<li>you may have double vision</li>
<li>you may see a halo (a circle of light) around bright lights, such as car headlights or street lights</li>
<li>if you wear glasses, you may find that they become less effective over time </li>
</ul>
